People of reddit who work the day shift at non-haunted businesses and don't spend all your time in the woods, what's the creepiest thing you've experienced?

Two things.

First is more scary than creepy. It was years ago and my wife was drinking with some friends. My wife is a lightweight and she knows this so normally she might have 2-3 drinks and then just have a fun night. That night a friend of hers got her some very strong drinks so my wife wasn’t feeling good at all, so she called and ask me to come get her. I told her to wait in the bar she was at and I would walk in and get her. For some reason her friends convinced her that it would be better to wait outside, but that one of them would wait with her. I show up and my wife and her friend who is far more inebriated than my wife are literally getting cornered by a group of men and the things I heard these men saying (we’re going to do it right here) let me know they didn’t have any good intentions. I’m not sure if it was my size, suddenly showing up and maybe startling them, or God knows what, but they left in short order. I can’t even imagine what would’ve happened had I not gotten there when I did.

The other was more recent. My running path takes me by a dense outcropping of trees/brush maybe 2-3 meter off my path. Sometimes at night I would hear large footsteps in the woods and I would pick up my pace when I heard this, and modify my running path the next few times I ran, but invariably I would find myself running past this area. One night it sounds like whatever the hell it is following me is going to jump through the woods and just end me right there. All of a sudden this adorable horse pops out through the trees and just looks at me, kind of makes the little blowing sound a horse makes, shakes it’s head, and then runs back into the woods. After that I didn’t get creeped out, but for a split second I thought it was all over.
