Cringey Morale Post

I'm going to take some time here to do a little fact checking and bullshit busting.

I've been with Brave since day 5, and unless those five days were somehow wildly different, I've seen it all from the beginning.

Actually correct. However that changed when you decided to become a sov holding entity. You don't get to say "oh we're new", we're camped in. If you're camped in, you're not a sov holding entity. You either step up in fight or you don't hold sov. You can't do both.

Groups like Black Legion look at the region, see lots of fights to be had and easy moons to take and we find ourselves in the current situation.

Wrong. That's some North Korean-grade revisionism. BL had our sights set on Fountain before you guys even moved to Defsunun, nevermind when you were already moved in. Infact at one level of or another, we've had our eyes on Fountain since the map started to move after Phoebe. Believe me you guys are the new kids in town here, not us.

So, what to do? We fight, that's what we do. We have always fought.

Wrong. No you haven't. You haven't turned up to a single timer with anything bigger than Moa's for almost a month now. I've got a feeling that's going to change tonight and hopefully everyone has a ton of fun, but to say that everyone's been trying their best is a flat out lie.

The basic principle of agitprop is to get a group to crumble from the inside. To create doubt and suspicion within a group, making it weaker. Many of the outsiders that post on the subreddit or in other places know this, and revel in creating havoc within Brave ranks. Don't fall for this.

What the fuck are you talking about. Sure the shit stirring OP's are made by outsiders often, but if you then have 30 people who're long time respected members of Brave come along and completely agree citing their own experiences and examples, its a pretty cheap cop out to go "stop getting meta gamed".

There is a reason we wanted to work on Duality to learn the FozzieSov system. It's more complex than we thought. I can't say it's a great testing ground, with tournament ships and ISK not being an issue, very different than Tranquility. But we do need to learn how to be better prepared. The plan might not have been communicated well, but the idea was good.

Ok let's say you did great on Duality, you stomped the competition, and were now the world leading experts on Fozziesov. That would have taken you what, 2 weeks? How long do you think it's going to take the rest of us to get familiar with these mechanics? Do you think the rest of EVE is so mentally challenged that a 2 week headstart on learning some basic game mechanics was going to take you from being completely incapable of holding r64s and entity 1/10th your size, to being the dominant sov holding entity in EVE? For the last month we've had Origin doing corp deployed to MN5 doing their own fleets for 90% of objectives, Boob Heads regularly doing their own thing, both alongside our main alliance T3 fleets. That experience is going to be much more useful in Fozziesov than having a 2 week headstart on learning some stuff you could understand with an hour of reading a dev blog and chatting about it.

Sitting on the sidelines taking pot shots is bullshit.

You're absolutely right. Equally propping up and giving false hope to people that are shit isn't going to help either. Like to make a specific callout, Nathan is never going to be a good FC. The dude was a joke in Spectre fleet for a long time, and makes the same basic mistakes fleet, after fleet, after fleet and never learns. That isn't someone who needs support and encouragement. That's someone who needs to be told to ship up or ship out. You also focus far too much on welp fleets as an intro to FCing. Your goal as a FC should be to get as many kills as possible with as few losses as possible while completing the objective. Welp Fleets and roams are an exception, not the norm.

Pitting one corp in the alliance or another alliance in the coalition against each other is a trap set by others that we repeatedly step into.

If you're talking about Bovril vs Else here, I think there's ample objective evidence right now to show they aren't pulling their weight on an alliance level. If you're talking about other HERO entities vs Brave, there's even more.

The lessons should be learned from watching what they actually do not from what they say they do.

Again, you're assuming here that just assuming that we're lying to you and trying to meta game you. If we're already wrecking you ingame, why do you think we'd try to do that? Dude it's a video game, not the soviet union.

Why certain individuals feel the need to constantly try to mansplain Eve to us, I don't understand.

Because there's a ton of us who've spent an unconscionably huge amount of time getting really good at this game and learning all this shit, and we just think EVE is the coolest thing ever and love talking about it. That's my experience, and I know for a lot of people including Baki and Raknor it's the same way. If you come on to our TS at any random point, we're using theorycrafting out something for some weird hodge podge situation and arguing back and forth about why it will/won't work, what the pros/cons are, what the counters would be, etc. For example the big thing atm right now is Leviathans shooting subcaps with these new missiles mods. We've spent literally hours discussing it, running numbers, testing it on Singularity, etc. We'll probably never actually do it on the real server, but the point is we've learned a ton of stuff walking through this whole process the same way you guys are trying to with Duality. Next week it'll be something else. When you spend that much time thinking about something, it's fun to talk about it.

Dunk your group clearly has some fucking issues. There are plenty of people right now who aren't happy well beyond the fact that you're not winning right now. Ignoring them and whitewalling all the supposed problems is absolutely the most harmful thing you could possibly do right now.
