People of Reddit, Who is the worst person you have ever been stuck with as a co-worker?

Finally an askreddit thread I can contribute to! So I used to work in an office. It wasn't anything too big or fancy, so everyone knew each other (and knew each other's business - but that's a story for another time)

I had been working at this place for a couple of years and didn't really like socialising with people from work. I guess I prefered to keep my work life and social life separate - I often declined work social events. Was I a little anti-social? I guess so.

Anyway, one day I came into work and my manager introduced me to 'the new guy'. I was asked to supervise him over the next few weeks. I'll refer to him as Mike (he was German and had a very distinct name so I'd rather not refer to him by his real name). Over the course of the next few weeks, I taught him all that I knew, and Mike and I got pretty friendly with each other. He was a pretty decent guy, although obviously hated his job. We often joked about how we were 'living the dream'. I'm entirely sure what it was about him, perhaps it was his German sense of humour and accent, but the way he spoke and told jokes was just hilarious to me (the other people in the office didn't quite get him like I did).

Me and Mike became pretty good friends, we often went out to bars, would chill out at each others houses, the usual sorta stuff. All was going pretty well. It was nice to have a friend at work. I didn't dread going back every day. Mike made work more bearable I suppose.

Mike had been working at the office for about a year, when one day he didn't show up for work. He'd been absent from work on a few occasions, but had always told me he wouldn't be in. I asked my manager where he was - apparently Mike had been fired for stealing office supplies. I'm not sure how much exactly, but by the way my Boss talking about it, I assume it was a lot. Admittedly I was pretty disappointed with Mike, but hey, if we wanted to steal it was none of my business.

I called Mike after work and said I'd heard what happened. He told me he was feeling pretty depressed and made a few weird excuses about why he stole the stationary - something to do with having a stealing habit as a kid. I promised Mike i'd catch up with him in a few days.

I went home and told my girlfriend, Katie (not her real name), about what had happened. She found it all rather odd, and told me to stop seeing Mike. She was convinced he was selling the stationary for drug money and didn't want me associating with me. I have no idea why I agreed with her, but I cut all contact with Mike. I felt pretty bad, but I didn't want to upset Katie.

Anyway, fast forward 6 months or so and things are going pretty well for me. I got a promotion at work, me and Katie were engaged, and we had just moved into a new apartment. It was late at night and me and Katie had just got into bed. I turned to her and said 'I'm really glad how things have worked out you know. I feel like I'm living the dream' As I said that, I heard a crash. Mike had abseiled down the side of my apartment building, had smashed through a window and was stood in my front room, holding a large german sausage. 'I HEAR YOU ARE LIVING ZE DREAM!' he shouted. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Anyway, one thing lead to another and Mike ended up killing Katie with a frozen frankfurter. Me and Mike hang out again now. I'm going round his place tonight to play some Xbox.
