This almost belongs on /r/titlegore, but I'll bite.

Recently, I was in New York. I was walking down the street, and a girl stopped me to ask me a favour. She wanted me to take a bookcase off the street. Being a gent (slash having seen porn) I agreed. I lifted it and carried it inside the front door to her apartment building, where it became clear she would still have to lug it upstairs, so I insisted on taking it up. Up another level, and I offered to take it inside her apartment.

She umm'ed and aah'ed about the mess in there, and then opened her door.

This is where it gets less porny. I put the bookcase inside and said "Well there you go" and go to leave. She says thank you over and over, and then offers me cash. I refuse. She offers to buy me a drink sometime, and I, failing to recognise the porny potential of the situation, tell her I'm leaving NYC the next day. This whole conversation happens as I'm walking back down the stairs and she's speaking over a railing. At the front door of the building, I turn and tell her she's great looking and I'd have loved to have the chance to take that drink with her. She gives me her card.

I carry on my way. Drink. Happen to see Louis CK in a surprise set at the Comedy Cellar. Drink more. I get a little toey. Out comes her card. I e-mail her asking about that drink. At that stage it's almost 1am, and she agrees to meet.

We meet. We drink more. I share war stories with a bartender about acting in TV commercials in Asia and we all laugh and get along.

Her and I go back to her apartment, and have deliciously filthy fun together. At one point I recall removing my belt and binding her wrists with it - an act she later described as 'tantalisingly scary' which is a lot better than 'kinda rapey'. She seems to enjoy herself, and I leave NY the next day, smiling ear to ear. We still sometimes Whatsapp, and her subsequent sexy selfies confirm that she was, indeed, pretty darn hot. Yay.

tl;dr: Being chivalrous sometimes gets you laid.
