I know a woman, never romantic, just circle of friends, and asked for her instagram handle. Let's be buddies. She warned me, "OK but don't judge me, in case my whole pursuit of education and professional accomplishment doesn't work out, I need a back up." Now having had regular notices on my phone that there's a new instagram photo, and I open it and see more bikinis on the beach, you'd think, hey now, who doesn't like bikinis on the beach? But to be honest I do think less of her for what she's doing. Very smart and educated person who has every opportunity to do everything she wants. Yet she's posting stuff that is really going to fuck her up in the professional world. She asked me not to judge and I aspire not to but I ultimately do. What she's doing is bullshit. I haven't unfollowed her because in case she clicks on my shit, I don't want her to realize my profile is blocked to people I don't follow, thus revealing my judging. I don't feel good about it, but it's the truth.
