people who grew up rich but turned out poor what is your story?

Not quite sure if it counts as I was never "rich," more so had everything I needed and was spoiled by my parents more than many-something I didn't appreciate until I was older.

I got a practically free ride to college, immediately moved out because I wanted to be independent. However, I had no idea what I was doing. Stopped taking my meds cuz I was stupid, got depressed and ended up dropping out, moved back home for a year...

Eventually got my shit together enough to move out on my own again. Got into drinking, experimented with drugs, flew through jobs, got money in a less than legal way to make ends meet, took one college class, flunked because I never went despite having all A's in every online assignment and test-only time I went in...

Long story short, here I am now, doing a lot better, but still horrible with money. My parents are so supportive and lend me money when needed-such as now because I had no savings to prepare for the quarantine.

Once I'm back to work I'll be getting more hours than before and hope to learn from this experience how to better save so I can be truly independent and not need to rely on my parents so much.
