People who say you’re not a “man” for hitting a woman aren’t “manly” themselves.

I have no interest in punching anyone. I think you should only punch as a last resort. I implied as much in my original post where I explicitly say you should restrain if possible. I am just calling for consistency.

Yes, women who are as strong as men are outliers, but those outliers make my case because they show that “strength” is just being used as a smokescreen.

I’m not sure why the fact that men are generally stronger, generally raised differently, and assigned a role by society justifies anything. I draw a distinction between explanation and justification. Slave owners might have an explanation for their racism (they were raised that way) but that of course wouldn’t justify their racism. How is anything but strength level actually relevant? And by the way, I’m aware that men would get battered for hitting women. I’m just questioning deeply entrenched ideas that seem paper-thin, especially on the individual level.
