The physical church has changed radically over the last 20 years. Think it's emerging into what Christ wanted it to be or falling apostate by the Spirit of the World?

I know you are taking a respectful and passive approach to this discussion but here's where it wasn't really a good question for this forum to begin with. You asked an opinion based question and followed it up with your own firm opinion. What are you looking for in replies? Someone to dispute beliefs with you or a group to just all agree with? It's not much of a question. I'm going to try and ignore the passive smiley face and try and pick apart what you're trying to stir up in this discussion or question. Religion is entirely opinion. You may mask it as another word. Belief, faith, value, personal purpose, whatever. Growing up in a private religious school for 12 grades and having my own set of beliefs, we were at least taught to respect that this is the foundation of any religion. Stating a belief (whether it be the bible is correct, the church should follow it closer, or that sermons are too long) as truth has been shown over centuries of Holy wars a dangerous idea. A good starting point is to get into some philosophy courses or dive into other world religions more. Your church, in your town, of your own belief, may very well be changing and being more like a rock concert or rave. Many aren't. If your beliefs are what you consider "truth" then you're ruling out all possibilities that no teaching in the bible could be harmful in todays society or not able to be implemented. That is totally fine and I respect that. But the world doesn't operate on that basis. Your church may not either. It's part of being human to find meaning in how society should operate and how to live your life. If your church is straying from what you think is just that, then hold your beliefs, go your own way, and embrace the differences.
