"We plan to do to the meat industry what the car did to the horse and buggy. Cultured meat will completely replace the status quo and make raising animals to eat them simply unthinkable."

And it seems clear to me that you think everyone should be forced to see the universe the way you do, that your ethics are essentially God because of the way you feel.

And no, what is clear to you is yet another failure on your part. One of the many reasons I dislike industrial agriculture is because they fail to employ methods that I would prefer to use in order to limit the suffering of animals. I strive for my livestock to have a better death than their wild cousins, and prior to that, live a happy and pretty much carefree lifestyle up to that point. I don't want them going through a few days of stress (which, honestly, they are fairly resilient against), and then fear as they're chased into a kill box. There are better methods.

I think it's hilarious that you think all potential catastrophes are just paranoid, and that you can simply know what I mean without asking. There are so many possibilities, including diseased "vats." Earthquakes inhibiting production somewhere. Politics. Wars. Contamination. These things, even when they are isolated events, become a problem when VatCorp becomes the dominant player and manufactures most of it's meat in a few facilities, or when the nutrients needed for their meats are sourced from China or Mexico because it was produced more cheaply there and we didn't see that Tsunami coming. It really isn't my fault that you lack the imagination or the historical references to come up with all of the possible ways the chain of production could be damaged. Apparently, you also think it should be up to you to decide for future generations, who statistically are going to face major natural disasters including solar storms, whether or not people like myself get to think of them when I try to argue for a more diverse and resilient system. Good for you.

And LOL.... Pseudo-Sentient. Do you know what pseudo means? Because it seems like you don't... And there you go again, projecting YOUR view of the universe and YOUR feelings onto everyone else. You say nobody is going to ban livestock, by the way, but apparently you've never met PETA or the growing cousin-movements who are supposedly more rational than PETA. I have.... You kind of remind me of them. They refuse to accept the idea that their pain and their imaginings do not necessarily = reality.

Did I not mention economic factors? Yes I did. I really did. And ironically, you yourself can't seem to stop bringing up the suffering of animals. Hmmm. I never said it was an organized movement, just a notion that seems to prevail these days. You're trying to educate someone who already knows. More presumption on your part. Do you ever get tired of yourself?

And you just proved my point at the end. After spending post after post arguing that it isn't about suffering, it's just about efficiency and environment, you're right back to talking about the suffering of animals. You're right back to presuming that YOUR view of the universe, and how everyone and everything must live and die, is the correct one. You show your hand ONCE AGAIN, and prove that your primary reason for loving this vat meat is because it eliminates suffering. It wasn't about efficiency. It was about YOU. It was about YOUR feelings. And that is exactly what I'm talking about. This whole fucking thing was a waste of time. You danced around and beat around the bush, all for nothing, because in the end you still just can't accept the possibility that your view of the universe is not the only one that matters.
