Player empowerment is good for big market teams and bad for small market teams.

I might b wrong but low key a lot of this would be mitigated with changes to the cap space and larger contracts. We’ve see players go from big markets to smaller markets (Gordon Hayward, Rondo, Jeremy Grant, etc...) because of money. If franchises were to give longer contracts and more cap space people really wouldn’t move around as much. But owners don’t want to do that to theirselves. Owners don’t want to take the risk of signing a player long term to then get a fatal injury and end up taking dead cap. There is a reason we don’t see 7year contracts anymore. It won’t completely solve the issue (superstars are going to do what superstars do) but a lot of other players will stay longer if they had longer contracts. I might be wrong but this is just what I think.
