Please disagree with me!

This is all my opinion. I don't care about downvotes, honestly, because it doesn't mean anything to me. Do I get kicked off Reddit? Everyone has their own opinion and when I reference "everyone" it's not an attack. It may seem like it, or feel like an attack, but it's not - everyone is free to like what that want. What I say below isn't going to change your opinion about the movies nor can you change my mind about them. It is okay for you to like something I don't. At the end of the day, I don't know you. So, movies I liked that probably nobody else did - Time Trap, Nightmare on Elm Street (pretty much all of them), Poltergeist original 3, Child's Play (all of the originals - hate the remake). See, plenty of stuff for people to give me shit about, and it's okay, you're not going to change my opinion or the movies I like and enjoy. This is just a blurb so people feel okay with saying what they want in a reply, below are my thoughts.

Seriously? Hereditary, It Follows, and The Witch are what people are saying is the best in horror? I honestly don't like any of them. I haven't seen Midsommar, but going by everyone's thoughts on the other 3, it's probably a hard pass for me. Why are these movies so liked? I could never bring myself to watch any of them a second time and that's not because they are scary, or horrifying (maybe in how well everyone perceives these films).

Hereditary - besides the kids head getting chopped off, I didn't enjoy anything else about the movie. Are people thinking too hard about the movie and making it something it's not like Rick & Morty? There are so many fan theories about the latter, I'm just wondering. To me, Hereditary is Annabelle level - it's okay, but not as great as everyone makes it out to be. I wasn't scared, it didn't have me thinking about anything after it was done other than how cool it was that they pulled off the decapitation scene with a child. Other than that, it's just another cult horror movie and not cult following like RHPS (great movie).

It Follows - seriously? This is a good movie in people's opinions? Why? I think Contracted is better, but not by much. Hell Teeth is better if you want to get into movies about the horrors of having sex.

The Witch - okay, so this is actually a decent movie. I enjoyed it the 1 time I watched it. Does it need another watch? No. It wasn't fantastic, it was interesting, the ending was foreseeable. This is a period horror movie. Besides being about devil worshipping and possession, what else am I supposed to get from this movie? Exorcist was better. Why watch this when I can watch Exorcist?
