Please help! New resident and I think I really screwed up...

I suspect you are profoundly cherry-picking your data vis-a-vis your personal situation:

I am one of the 440,000 totally disabled due solely to surgical error (wrong patient, wrong procedure...what's called a "never-event"). And we trust our anesthetized bodies to them meanwhile they don't really give a shit, except to figure out how much profit they will make on each procedure. Of course I'm generalizing, but it's more likely than not. Shows like grey"s anatomy make us believe they anguish over their errors, but the silently close ranks in their private M&M conferences so no one will ever know the harm they cause. They lie for each other because they never know when they will need some to lie for them.

This is such a grotesque misunderstanding of how doctors conduct themselves, and the purpose of protected M&M conferences or what goes on therein, that it would be borderline humorous if it hadn't turned your attitude so toxic. I'm sorry if you were genuinely hurt or mistreated by your physicians, but your bias is clear and profound.
