Other way around counts also? My friend must have run in to the dumbest cop. This was like 13 years ago. My friend broke in some place and printed out the news story in the papers to show it to some of his friends. He bought a new wallet later on and during the process of changing his stuff from the old to the new one, he lost his ID, the printing of the break in and a businesscard. He did not notice until police called to his house asking him if he lost his ID. They also mentioned the sheets of paper and he was shitting his pants. His village name on ID was same as break in place and some of the officers knew him as a wild dude, but he did not have a record. He tells them the ID is his, but does not know anything about the printing. Officer on phone said OK, we'll throw them away and we'll see you asap to pick up your ID. He thought it was a trap and didn't dare to get his ID. After 2 weeks he was ready to be questioned and maybe let them take fingerprints. Walked in police station, asked for his ID, they gave it to him and he walked out. He never heard anything about it. Guess wrong cop handled it. He was always lucky.
