Policing as part of the national psyche

Maybe I'm misreading, but the author seems to describe the belief that being in a crowd helps spread the coronavirus as a conspiracy theory in the introduction. I guarantee you the only reason that point is being made is because it's a BLM protest. Right off the bat he's showing a science-denying bias. Right wing, left wing, and everything in between - you're putting people at risk by creating crowds during a pandemic. It's not the sole cause for the current state but it undoubtedly contributes.

He then he implies that police are stamping out BLM protests because they're anti-police. A ridiculous conspiracy theory that you don't even have to leap to because we have the fact that we are in a GLOBAL PANDEMIC as the primary reason. Anything beyond that is irrelevant and speculative.

He makes some decent points, but also makes some really bad ones that make the necessary discussion on policing more difficult.
