Former minister takes 'absolute responsibility' for Robodebt, admits defending scheme despite knowing it could be unlawful

As much as I would like to see those responsible behind bars, I doubt anyone will be prosecuted. At the very least I want the Royal Commission to acknowledge the suffering and very real death toll caused by Robodebt. As a public servant myself I find the actions of the Department of Human Services the most sickening. They clearly forgot who they fucking serve, or didn't care. A clear message needs to be sent by sacking any public servant that could have conceivably prevented this scheme from being implemented. Many are still floating around, they are a danger to human life so long as they hold any authority. We have to draw the line when it comes to "following orders" somewhere.
