Pop Psych’s latest video has some interesting takes, especially coming from someone who has admittedly not watched (actively) until the last season or two.

Based on this and other videos I've seen he really leans heavily on the default position that the kids need a relationship with both parents. And while I hesitate to "pull the sexism card" he's also seems in my opinion to favor the idea that it's a mother's job in particular to facilitate a child's relationship with their father.

In general I agree that kids with divorced parents should have every opportunity to cultivate healthy relationships with both parents. They should not be expected to take sides or withold time and affection from either parent. However, if the relationship with one parent is not healthy, there is no reason to try and force kids to participate in a relationship they don't benefit from just for the sake of being "fair" to that parent.

Also when the kids become adults it is no longer the other parent's responsibility to facilitate these relationships. Janelle is not Kody's personal assistant. She does not have to take messages back and forth to the kids or set up Christmas plans so that they can see their father. It's KODY'S responsibility. Period.
