Pope Francis' top advisers acknowledged that the Catholic Church "has made enormous mistakes" in allowing thousands of children to be raped and molested by priests over centuries

You want to talk about sexual abuse? What about the goddamned president of the united states? Bill Clinton used his power and influence to have sex with Monica Lewinsky, and no one gives a damn even today. Every organization has sexual abuse. The Military has sexual abuse. Schools have sexual abuse. The government has sexual abuse. Every big company has sexual abuse. They are all covered up frequently. Ever heard of goddamned teacher's unions? You don't hate all of them, do you? The only reason you hate the Church is because it goes against your belief system. You just use the molestation as a justification for your beliefs. That's why you can't deny the good it's done. I'm not even a Christian, but I don't stand for your type of bullshit. I fucking hate every asshole who's ever used his position in power to fuck around at all. I would gladly spend life in jail if it meant I got a day to painfully torture every single priest who fucked around with kids. Stop with your moral high ground bullshit. You support organizations that do shit just as bad as the Catholic Church and do not even a quarter of the good.

Here's just a small sample of what the Church does today - and this is from an old article written in 2011. They have no doubt expanded in the five years since.

Do you know the Catholic Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at the cost to that church of $10 billion and a savings on the other hand to the American taxpayer of $18 billion. The graduates go on to graduate studies at the rate of 92 percent.

The Catholic Church has 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. with an enrollment of 700,000 students.

The Catholic Church has a nonprofit hospital system of 637 hospitals, which account for hospital treatment of 1 out of every 5 people — not just Catholics — in the United States today.
