Pretty sought after! You’d have to give up stuff too though. It’s not utopia. Salaries for professionals are much, much lower. Housing costs can be really high in the bigger cities, rental leases completely impossible to get a hold of due to rent control and you have to be able to put 15% down in order to buy a condo/house. In Stockholm a tiny 1 bedroom can easily go for $600k.

I come from a working class family that wouldn’t be able help me with a downpayment, but I’m also a ”highly skilled worker” so the US makes more sense financially for me. I make 3x my Swedish salary here. I could never get a head in Sweden where there is a lot of intergenerational wealth exchange (no tax on gifts/inheritance and a huge middle class). In the US, I at least have a chance to catch up.
