Rant Wednesday

I have been going to a gym for over a year and a half now and I see an old buffed up dude almost every single day for the last 6 months. My bw is 68kgs and I could deadlift 110kgs for 3 sets of 4 excluding the warm up sets of 8,5,3 with 50,80,100kgs. Today I tried to check my 1RM and I lifted 120. The form was bad and I could feel it. Even though I had the power to do 1 more rep, I stopped because I wasn't lifting properly. Today for the first time, I went with a friend and I tried to help him get started with some exercises since he is new. This old dude, out of nowhere, came to me and started talking about my form.

He said he knows better since he is a professional powerlifter. I completely agree with his comments but the dude humiliated me in front of everyone else in the gym by saying that the weight I was lifting was too much as, apparently, I was struggling and that I would do better with "10kgs". I was like wtf man. Totally ruined my motivation. I have a feeling that he saw me teaching my friend and just wanted to show off.
