My paranoid thoughts:

Our government has nuclear weapons. No citizen does. As soon as they wipe a state off of the face of the planet, most will cave. Or they could use drones. Or subsonic weapons. Or a multitude of other things that have been developed costing billions (trillions) of dollars. The government (not us) control the most advanced military on the face of the planet. If they truly got that authoritarian it wouldn't be civil war. Citizens would cave like the Japanese did after two atomic weapons. Just a severe death causing spanking like Tiananmen. The line has been crossed. We can't possibly win against the government at this point. To fight would be to die in vain. They have access to tech that is so fucking superior to any armaments we have, regardless of number.

Not saying I want any of this, but if the government wants to do it, they can. I honestly don't view 2a as protection from the government at this point, but more from fellow citizens given slow police response times and such.

I know my attitude isn't in the spirit of this sub. Sorry guys.
