Question for American Women

Throwing gender out of the equation, we are all the same species. Therefore, we all deserve at least some level of respect. Now if we put gender back in, then certain levels of respect will vary due what our culture is like. However, at the very bottom of it all, we are all worthy of the same amount of respect when we first meet each other. If people just did this and were kind and polite to each other when they first meet and also afterwards, I feel that we would be much better as a society.

I mean its true we're all human, but isnt it also true that the sexes are different, opposites some might even say?

Yes, the sexes are different. However, if we are talking about treating others like human beings, then we are not talking about sexes now are we? I did not address gender at all and was speaking about this from a gender-neutral perspective.

To treat one as a human being is to treat one as you would treat yourself, for you are also a human being. If we put gender and the sexes into this, then it will change a bit (but it should not change in a way where you feel that you can treat another person as if they are inferior to you).
