Anyone think Shinzen’s ‘science of enlightenment’ gets very ramble and difficult to digest at some point? At first he’d explaining meditation and enlightenment to a degree and most of the time in clear coherent language. But when he gets to explaining meditation like ‘noting gone’ it all starts to get very rambly suddenly getting into ‘flow’ without proper explanation, then leaping into dissolution and dark night of the soul phenomena and how to apply antidotes to it also without any real introduction. It is difficult to discern how to actually build a practice out of what he’s saying. This is part of the reason why I started reading this book, to get a clear introduction to his teachings but I find myself at a loss how to apply this in my meditations and daily life in a structured way.
