/r/bitcoin is vote brigading /r/bigbangtheory

I'm ashamed of us all. We had a chance tonight of putting on a positive open house for the rest of the world coming from /r/BigBangTheory, and we absolutely, unequivocally, blew it: https://www.reddit.com/r/bigbangtheory/comments/7gnhod/the_big_bang_theory_s11e09_the_bitcoin/

We need to STOP the negativity and infighting with the perceived "other side" - until crypto becomes mainstream, we are ALL on the SAME SIDE, which is the side of CRYPTO, and it needs to stay this way if we're ever to have any hope of getting anywhere close to mass adoption. Our sights need to be set on the outside world - not on each other.

Crypto has seen a lot of adoption this year, but by arguing among ourselves, we're just stabbing ourselves in the foot - NOBODY is going to invest in a civil war, and NO newcomers to /r/btc or /r/bitcoin will look upon this embarrassing mess of flame wars that have become our home and think that "this looks like a promising community into which I'd like to invest my money". Maybe 6 months ago, but not now.

We are destroying our community.

Here's some proof of this happening from tonight's /r/bigbangtheory subreddit, where Bitcoin and BCH advocates had an embarrassing flamewar in foreign territory, in front of complete strangers who had no idea what any of us were talking about.

So is there going to be any discussion about the episode, or are both sides just going to continue embarrassing themselves?

Alright so, looking at r/bigbangtheory sub, most threads have no posts in them and a handful of upvotes, and then there’s this thread with 322 posts.

Congratulations r/bitcoin and r/btc, you managed to convert nobody to the cause. This is a good example of what propaganda looks like.

I liked the episode. What interest I had in Bitcoin disappeared the second I checked out this thread...

Good luck with the headache that's happening tonight. Not a great first impression of Bitcoin or BCash on this subreddit I imagine... How was the episode? I didn't get to watch it live.

Let us all make a pledge to stop attacking our fellow crypto brothers (and sisters), and start being a positive role model for our fledgling little community.

Part of being a positive role model is the ability able to make CONCESSIONS- even if you know that you are in the RIGHT- for the greater good of the team. Another aspect is the ability to IGNORE harmful insults rather than adding more fuel to the fire.

TLDR: PLEASE STOP THE HATEFUL FLAMEWARS, POSTS, COMMENTS, AND INSULTS. IT'S EMBARRASSING, and we are destroying each other before we're even a real thing!!!

Let's set our sights on forward progress and get back to work creating a community of which I'm proud to be a member: a community into which I'd like to invite my friends & relatives (I'm no longer sure I do), and which is focused on the future of currency: CRYPTO - no matter what the most deserving coin happens to be.
