While I agree with your example, I would strongly argue that you can't find a News source that is too different, so I made that statement in an appeal to reason for those who might follow Fox News. And it's a true statement, regardless.

Shepard Smith for example is one of the best people in the news to follow right now because he actually cares about people and he understands the importance of his position and what he does. That might sound 'normal', and it should be, but it's not.

"Mistakes" will always happen, just like with any other network. I've seen PBS NewsHour make mistakes before, both honest and (possibly) questionable. CNN makes them all the time because they care more about ratings than even Fox News. BBC has questionable wording with headlines at times which I can only imagine is intentional. The New York Times isn't innocent, either. I've come across articles from many 'popular' publications that are clear examples of betrayals to their supposed self-described 'values'. For what? For ratings. You can't trust anyone, you can only 'shop around' and find the best value at any given time using the best of your capabilities.

If you want to continue alienating people on the Right from listening to what you have to say by not being fully honest, then that's all on you. And you will, too. Check out that Pew Research article and look at what news network the Right watches the most, by far.

We have to start uniting again. That starts with considering what we say and how we say it, by swallowing our pride and by being more honest with ourselves and being more forgiving with others. We have to appeal to each other. Being right hardly matters if nobody is willing to listen to you.
