First things first: Congrats to the Patriots. They made one more play than the Hawks and deserved that SB win. So, none of the following is meant to take that away from them. I'm not making excuses; just providing some reasons I think the game didn't go the Hawks way.

*The Pats knew how to beat the Hawks: Long drives with quick passes. That really is the way to beat the Hawks, but it is still difficult. The Pats probably have the best team to do just this and it worked.

*The last play: Ugh. What's the one thing you CANNOT do in that situation? Throw an interception. Period. You have THREE fucking plays to try and win the game...THREE. You simply CANNOT throw an interception until the FINAL play if that happens. You either run the ball with Lynch or Wilson, or you play fake to Lynch and roll Wilson out. Wilson then decides to run it in or pass to a TE or whomever they send to the endzone. The WORST that happens is Wilson throws it away and they go to 3rd down. So, I don't mind a pass call, but a slant (where multiple things HAVE to go right) is not the call IMO. I mean, you're throwing a BULLET into the middle of the field. I get it, they tried to catch the Pats of guard, but the risk wasn't worth it on 2nd down. I could talk about this all night, but I've said enough.

*Did the Seahawks get COCKY and R-E-L-A-X? So, the Hawks are always confident, and really one could say arrogant, but they've always backed it up. This time they didn't. My normal feelings when the Hawks go up by 10 or more is, "OK, here we go baby! This is when it gets good!" Previously, when the Hawks get up by 2 scores it's game over baby. They don't give up those leads. But in the SB, we have Baldwin pretending to shit on the ball and Sherman gloating about 24 or whatever. I get it, they are talkers, but it seemed that they got flat out COCKY. And when this happened, they RELAXED a little. Am I right? They pulled a "Green Bay" and thought they'd already won the game! This is the exact opposite of what they usually do. Then, they give up 14 points in the 4th quarter and the offense brain farts on their drives. That was NOT a Seahawks 4th quarter. Credit to Brady and the Pats, but the Hawks figuratively shit on the ball, and then shit on the 4th quarter. It was uncharacteristic for the Hawks to do that. They always seemed to have that "Play till the end" mentality, but did it leave them in the 4th quarter of the SB? I think maybe so.

*Injuries: OK, I know, everyone is injured at this time of year. But really, these guys got beat the fuck up. I mean Lane going out was huge! Simon got picked on again and the Hawks just can't seem to adjust to it. Also Avril goes out. Those were big injuries for that game. And who knows how Sherman and Earl's injuries affected any of the plays they were involved in. Not to mentioned Richardson, Mebane, Miller, etc. Again, no excuses, but the Pats were better off regarding injuries for sure.

*What could have been: Holy shit, this wasn't just any Super Bowl loss. Do any of you allow yourself to think about the epicness that almost was? I try not to get too far with it because my head will explode, but holy shit, this team almost became LEGENDARY. Can you imagine winning back-to-back SBs after the comebacks in the NFCCG and the SB? I'm guessing there has NEVER been two back-to-back comebacks EVER like that in even REGULAR SEASON games. Let alone the last two fucking games?!?! Right now people would seriously be asking, "Is this Seattle team the best we've ever seen?" Maybe people wouldn't think so, but it WOULD be asked. Not to mention Wilson having the best fucking first three years for a QB while beating Peyton Fucking Manning and Tom Fucking Brady in back-to-back SBs! Right now this team is a really good team that won one SB and almost won another. They have a good future, but can you FUCKING imagine the narrative if they win that game? Let's not forget an MVP for Lynch, Wilson, or maybe ever Matthews. FUCK ME. This is the worst part for me. This team can still make it back to SBs and can still be one of the all time greats, but CAN YOU FUCKING BELIEVE WHAT WOULD BE SAID ABOUT THIS TEAM IF THEY HAD PULLED THAT OUT?????!!!!!!! FUCK. The Hawks went from LEGENDARY to the team that had 3 downs to get one fucking yard and threw an INT on a risky fucking call. Ugh. And the odd thing is this is the team that has ALWAYS been in that exact situation and has come through. I mean, they've done that final drive this whole year practically.

So anyway, not taking anything away from the Pats, they made the plays and deserve the win. Just getting these thought out of my head so I can heal. I'm excited for the future. Go HAWKS!

TL: DR: Fuck me they could have been legendary; I think this will be cathartic. GO HAWKS.
