Rebellion against force sensitives

A "rebellion against force sensitives" suggests that they are some kind of unified group that hold power. This obviously isn't true.

Of course there are times and places where a particular group of force sensitive people holds power. Typically this is the Sith, and usually the help of the Jedi is sought, or even absolutely necessary, to overthrow their rule.

The Jedi are a more complex case. They don't seek to hold power in any political sense. If we look at the Old Republic, the Jedi certainly have influence, and some formal powers or roles, but political power and legitimacy lies in the Senate and in planetary and regional governments. At their best, the Jedi have an informal, flexible, bottom-up, sage-like approach that keeps them from being viewed as any kind of power bloc.

It's also hard to be angry at a group genuinely pursuing peace and justice across the galaxy. Damn Jedi, stopping us from having a good war!

So what about the observation that the abilities of force sensitive people mean they are behind many or most of the great tyrannies? That may be true, although the counter-argument is that they are also behind many triumphs for freedom and justice. After all, the Jedi supported the Old Republic in governing largely democratically and justly for thousands of years.

Even if we accept the argument though, what could be done about it? Force sensitivity is an inherent characteristic of a person. Often it's inherited, but it doesn't seem to be genetic. Sometimes it's spontaneous. What are you going to do with these people? Kill them? Imprison them? The comparison made by /u/TheCarrzilico with X-men is a good one.
