Recommendations for insurance for AirBNB in California?

This asshole has been doing this for sixteen years, and has had multiple listings on AirBnB since 2009. This asshole has spent countless hours reading AirBnb and Short Term Rental oriented forums, and has seen it come up constantly. There are absolute idiots out there who run naked, believing that the worthless AirBnB Host guarantee is an insurance policy that will indeed cover them. They believe it because they've read other people state for a fact "No problem Bro... you're covered... it's the AirBnB Insurance Policy..." And those dipshits spout that crap believing they are correct. Fools listen to them, and then post that they've lost their coverage... can't get coverage at a reasonable rate... and don't know what to do. AirBnB is really good at making this whole thing look like a safe easy way to earn a few extra bucks or a damned good living. They don't alert you to the hazards.

I find it interesting that you begin this thread with the words...

I’ve (very) recently learned that short-term rental of AirBNB (a converted garage/accessory dwelling unit (“ADU”)) may have voided my homeowner’s policy

Then lambast me for being brutally honest, while saying...

my policy has not been voided

Well congratulations. At least you've still got a policy. I've seen far too many people get a rude wake up call from their insurance carrier just for asking about coverage when AirBnB (or any other Short Term Rental use) is involved, let alone when they've needed to file a claim.

I could in fact get an AMI policy tomorrow (that would be more expensive than my prior policy,

So then... you're not currently covered, and you're putting yourself at risk.

Gawd.... I'm such an asshole.
