It was a point in my life where I was a Christian college student and I brought my Christian boyfriend to meet my parents. I'd already met his picture perfect suburban family. I'd put lots of effort cleaning the house and cooking and was wanting the visit to go well. My drug addicted, alcoholic brother had a tendency to disappear for days to weeks at a time and then reappear. But he was gone and had just gotten a lot of money from his job so we weren't expecting to see him during the boyfriend's visit. The first day went beautifully. The boyfriend got along well with my parents. My boyfriend was sleeping out in the living room when all hell broke loose. It was midnight. My brother and a woman show up in a very loud, altered state. My brother locks himself in the bathroom with the woman and they loudly fornicate and then one of them vomits. Then they get in a loud argument and break up. Then they have sex again very loudly. The next morning my parents and brother were gone to work but the woman was still there, snoring loudly in my brothers room. The phone rings and my boyfriend answers and it's the woman's father. He demands that my boyfriend wake her up and threatens to come over and beat my boyfriend up if he doesn't. While we are debating what to do. The girl comes flying out of my brother's room screaming at "what the heck? How did he get this number? Why'd you answer? What the heck?!" Then she goes on the phone and screams unintelligibly at her dad and then says this gem: "fuck you dad. I'm not coming home. I live here now." And then "no he is not using me for sex. He loves me!" My boyfriend and I looked at each other. I said, "I'd planned for today for us to cook breakfast but I'm thinking breakfast out and then berry picking?" My then boyfriend said, "that sounds great." And we left.
