Not a roommate but a housemate. She claimed she was depressed, and I'm pretty skeptical about this for a number of reasons: *She was pretty loud about it and would tell anyone that would listen to her (even people she'd JUST met) *She'd tell everyone a different story (i.e. "Erika made me depressed because she won't give me back my pan" "My roommate oompapoopa made me depressed because all she wants from me is my money" "oompapoopa's roommate made me depressed because she didn't tell me that Erika would be at oompapoopa's birthday party") *She threw the word around a LOT. Typically, people aren't proud to announce to the world that they're depressed.
Anyway, a number of things happened that made my roommate and me get sick of her. First, she lost a $1 pan, and apparently this $1 pan was such a big issue to her that she'd bothered every single person in our friend group about it. For months. No one had it or knew anything about it, but she insisted that someone give her the pan or pay her back. She'd done this to her housemates (who my roommate and I replaced) the previous year.
She'd also have emotional breakdowns while my roommate and I had friends/boyfriends/whoever over (also none of these people knew her because at this point, any mutual friends we had with her wanted to avoid our apartment). We'd be chilling in the living room and she'd come in sobbing and yelling about some imagined slight, making things awkward for everyone. Because of this, we don't have friends over anymore.
She'd also yell at and hit one of our good friends (who happened to be her ex) and ask us to do the same for her because he "wasn't affectionate enough." Whenever he or his roommate did something she didn't like, she'd yell at him for it over the phone. She'd do this while in our shared bathroom, which shared a wall with my room. This included throwing things, hitting the walls, etc.
Eventually, she isolated herself from each member of the friend group. None of us disliked her at first, until she made conflicts with each of us individually over inconsequential bull shit and lied about us to each other.
