Reddit, what is your love at first sight story?

Early on when I was dating my wife a childhood friend hit me up to come visit him. He lived two hours away at the time, and we hadn't talked in a while. I was a bit nervous about taking my girlfriend of 1 month on an all-day road trip to visit a friend I hadn't seen in a year, but she seemed excited to meet one of my (few) friends, and he was always a relatively mature and put together guy.

We get there and his new apartment is fly as all hell. It's in a gated apartment complex, sleek, modern, indoor swimming pool. His apartment was very chic, lots of shiny chrome and black leather. In comparison, I lived in a dump in the ghetto and was currently waging an epic war against a neighborhood-wide flea infestation because of the feral cats.

My now-wife is just as impressed as I am of this guy's crib. This dude's PC battlestation is insane. He has 3 debezelled 1440p 144hz monitors on a pretty cool articulating desk that matches the rest of the apartment. Inside his tower he's running some crazy dual-xeon board with SLI linked Titans. Keyboard and mouse looked a little shabby, but whatever.

Anyway, he was playing Titanfall when we came in and asked if I wanted to give it a shot. My girlfriend looked kind of annoyed, but I said "sure" and said down. The second I laid hands on that shitty looking keyboard I experienced pure nirvana. It clicked so loudly, so crisply. Like nothing I'd ever experienced.

That's how I fell in love with mechanical keyboards.
