Redditors, what made you realise that your manager is treacherous?

When I was hired they gave me two pension forms, one was to opt in to their pension scheme, the other was to opt out of all pension schemes. Their pension scheme has them contribute 10% of my wages.

What they didn't tell me was that if I signed neither form, I'd be automatically opted in to the state pension, where their contribution would be 20%.

This coincided with me learning that, internally, there was a power struggle between middle management and upper management (with middle management being the good guys and upper management being literally like 3 people who care only about the bottom line and not about the employees or the quality of our work) that is actually about to get the elected government involved to try and remove the people at the top.

I learned about all of this yesterday.
