Feeling grateful for America.

This is just casual in tone, I help immigrants sometimes with their housing, language skills, and starting their legal process. So, my only intention is to express my agreement that this is a big (and rare) change of circumstances that doesn't happen for many people. Feel joy/surprise that you're doing better than most citizens even!

That's true. But, remember you can and should ask for raises in America every couple of years. One expert said you should try every year.

Still, that is a lot. America has been good to you.

I love my country, but she can be very hard on some of us: I have a great university degree, a "white" name and look (sadly, this can matter in some places, and HR testing proves it), and am good with people.

Sadly, almost all my friends and I in America have struggled terribly.

Ha ha, so I'm truly happy for you, but it is even more a blessing when you are doing better than average citizens! And you are in the top 1% of income worldwide!

Just keep your cost of living low (monthly expenses)! And become a citizen as fast as you can! You'll feel proud and safe that day.

And even though our politics on immigration are confusing these days, you will have a high chance of finding ways to bring family over.

I've helped 2 people who moved to America. They always got sad at the process...

But, I think you'll make it!
