I was in college walking to a friend’s house 4 blocks away. I was pretty drunk already and had beer, vodka, and donuts in my backpack.

I get 2 blocks up the hill and a car slams into the back of another car. I walk up to the behind car, knock on the window and ask if she is okay. She shook her head no. I somehow mentally “sobered up.” I ran around the car, opened her door and asked again. She said she was okay, just in shock it happened. The other driver was walking around and fine.

I called 911, the cops came. The girl’s phone died and I let her use mine to call her parents. I stayed around to be a witness for the cops. After things seemed to be fine, I was back to my mental drunk state.

I offered everyone donuts, the girl was the only one that took one. She was cute and her parents called my phone the next morning to thank me and said it’s too bad she lived far, otherwise they wished she could go on a date with me.
