Redditors who grew up with overly permissive parents, what was the most absurd thing you were allowed to do?

Probably letting me and my friends take my sisters car out in the middle of the night to go pick up other friends and smoke weed.

That part isn't that crazy but we ended up getting caught by the cops while we were hotboxing the car in the middle of a cul-de-sac. Obviously they made us call our parents to come get us and so they could tell them what happened.

When my mom showed up she pretended to be super mad at me and it took everything I had in me not to laugh. There was a point where we made eye contact while she was fake scolding me and we both had to look away because we were about to burst out laughing.

I felt fucking terrible for my friends though since their parents were actually incredibly angry. One of my friends parents had us all write down our AIM screen names and other online aliases so that they could make sure we weren't talking to their kid anymore.

But my mom knew I wasn't an awful kid and we were just smoking weed, which she knew I would have done regardless even if she disapproved. Pretty much every weekend I would have a bunch of people over at my house because they knew my parents were ok with us smoking weed there (as long as we did it outside).
