Redditors whose SO or friend gave their life to save them from anything, how has your life changed since then?

We had a wonderful time on our date. He picked out a cute stuffed besr from a crane machine and gave it to me. He laughed at my jokes as we ate our chicken. He held my hand in the darkness of the movie theatre. Who knew that, in a sea of "just friends" and "fuck me hard," you can find someone this amazing on Tinder? We were going to part ways for the night. I found myself a taxi to take me home. I opened the door, but he grabbed my shoulder. "Before you go, close your eyes." I complied, wondering what he had in store. A whisper came I to my ear. "I love you." I opened my eyes and smiled. He mirrored me. He leans closer and we close our eyes as our lips blend onto a pinkish mix. I had to focus to remain standing up. Those lips--They were like banana bread in morning. They were sweet chocolate that fits perfectly with Grandma's cookies. Now I'm hungry. As lips came apart, he leans towards my ear. "I love you," he says again. A tear escaped from my eye. Those words. They're much stronger than they seem to the common man. They have to power to envoke emotion and action. I hugged him in a tight grip and he reciprocared. My senses focused only on the feeling of his arms around my back. The noises gradually became softer and softer as his hand grazed my back. The footsteps of random pedestrians. The honking of the traffic. The kid popping a balloon. They all became next to soundless. This man gripped me harder and slumped onto the ground in a small pool of blood.

I didn't expect that.

My senses returned as I rushed to the ground and grabbed his hand. "No. No. NOOOO. He turned his eyes to meet mine and smiled. Remember those words," he said. "Remember those wo-" "Please. No. No. Please." More tears left my eyes, but for reasons absolutely different.

I lifted his torso and cried. I looked up and see the taxi driver returning a pistol into the taxi's glove compartment. He turned to me and said nonchalantly, "Sorry, no serious tag."
