Honestly, having worked for a lot of people like the Gilmore’s (well-educated and well-off usually for generations), so many of them project an image that isn’t representative of their character.

So many politicians, big business owners, important board members, and “high society” people, it’s a little unsettling the first time I’ve watched them speak on humility and empathy, and it’s “glad that bs is over” the minute we walk out the door

But I think it’s kind of accepted as a pretty well-known thing in those circles that the images they project don’t match their character. For me, Emily & Richard are pretty realistic
