I don't hate him either. Lorelai is a hero for running off at 16 with her baby to escape her parents and start her own way, but it's actually another step in a series of bad decisions. Great that it worked out in this fictional show, but in real life, that could have ended very badly, and she's a child, raising a child, running off in a fit of temper because her parents can't tell her what to do!

So that Christopher is scared... makes sense. He's probably wondering why she didn't opt for another option since they were both children still, and if this were real life and I saw two 16 year olds trying to figure out what to do with a surprise pregnancy, I would agree with him.
