Well, I'm going to ask you an important question, do you remember Lorelai's complete scene with the therapist (6.22), Chris Stan and some who hate Luke or hate Luke's relationship with Lorelai, they never believe what Lorelai said that she only loved Luke, they say:
Lorelai was just trying to convince herself that she only loved Luke.
Lorelai was idealizing her relationship with Luke.
Lorelai was talking about Luke as a strong and solid man, but subconsciously she was talking about Chris because she always wanted Chris to be like that.
ASP never meant for Lorelai to say that she didn't love Chris, but she was suggesting that Lorelai was trying to figure out which love was truer, which means Lorelai loved Chris as she always did even when she with Luke, so she went to him right after the ultimatum.
What do you think of all this? Why all these weird assumptions? Was Lorelai really not meaning what she said or was she lying?
