Rookie Tyler Herro has just scored 19 points in the 2nd quarter vs the Hawks

I just think the evolution of the game to 3 ball opens the door for younger people to shine sooner.

In previous eras most rookies couldn't keep up with the physicality and speed even if they were skilled enough. It took time to adjust with some exceptions.

In this era if you're quick, have good vision, and can shoot, you'll be able to be effective right away because defenses have to give you more space than ever and most teams have moved to high screen action for open looks.

Look at some of the recent rookie performances. Most of it is because of great 3 pt shooting nights. We're seeing the first generation of kids who grew up learning a pull up 3 on a fast break is a good shot.
