Rudy Giuliani won deal for OxyContin maker to continue sales of drug behind opioid deaths

OK, but that doesn't change the fact that Perdue lied.

Well they didn't quite lie, they've done all of their marketing by the book and it will be hard to pin anything on them in these lawsuits. The FDA's double blind clinical trials showed that Perdues formula of oxycodone 'OxyContin' was non intoxicating with no potential for abuse, and there was a decades worth of peer reviewed scientific and medical studies published in journals that re affirmed FDA's clinical trial results.

So if a Perdue representative goes out to talk to doctors and tell them "The FDA trials show that this drug is non intoxicating with no potential for abuse, and here's a decades worth of independent peer reviewed articles in various medical journals reaffirming the FDAs findings." Then they aren't lying, they are factually stating claims that the federal government and independent researchers published without misrepresenting them.

In order for the 'perdue lied' cases to stick they'd need to provide evidence of corruption within the FDA and independant scientific/medical research community and go after those folks as responsible via conspiracy.
