So by now....

I would think that it should be obvious to Russia, that it is VERY UNLIKELY the USA would ever try to invade, or annex any Russian territory.

Firstly, to do so would likely trigger a nuclear war!

So it's pretty much a given that neither side wants that.

But even ignoring the issue of nuclear weapons, there really is ZERO interest amongst the US government and American people to try to invade Russia.

America really does NOT want to militarily seize Russian land!

Instead, America wants to jointly make money and profits, through joint business ventures!

Also... essentially, there are far more pressing "enemies" and concerns, than Russia on the mind of America right now (ie: ISIS).

So what gives?

Why is the Russian government so obsessively fearful of the USA?

All the Russian Government has to do is simply reach out...

That's all it would take: just a couple of grand gestures of strong interest in doing business with the USA, for each other's mutual benefits, and assurance that the assets of joint ventures with American companies won't be seized on a whim...

and voila:

instant economic boom for Russia!

Wealth... prosperity... an increase in living standards for Russian people... a more optimistic era...

And who knows: maybe even a joint space-mission to Mars!

And together, if they combined their military strength, they could take lunatics like ISIS, and do the world a HUGE favor.

So ya... I guess I just don't get the logic of the Russian Government...

If I was the Russian president, I would get my @ss on a plane, and fly to Washington, and stay there, until I negotiated the launch of a new economically prosperous era for the Russian people, and got those sanctions lifted.

Most US presidents would jump at the chance to negotiate such a new era of relations with Russia, as it would certainly secure their place in the history books...

and also look pretty damned good for that president's re-election prospects!
