Same goes for professors. We must sacrifice ourselves for what exactly?

I totally hear you, but most people with advanced degrees outside of health care aren’t working in person (at least in my state).

Teachers and professors took a tough road in many ways but worrying about our personal safety at work is not something we signed up for. Besides a handful of doctors and a few R1 folks who chose to go back to labs (at 2 people in the lab at the same time), no one I know from my undergrad or grad is working in person right now.

No denigration on the wonderful people who serve me chicken nuggets (no sarcasm, seriously lovely people) but part of going to college and further is to not have to worry about preventable workplace hazards.
