I admit I still hold a grudge against my bachelor's institution. I was a freshly minted transfer student with an AAS from a community college. Went over to the Honors building and met with a woman and said I'd like to join the Honors program. She looked over my transcript and said, "Honey, Honors program isn't for you. You went to a community college."

And she said it like I was dipped in radioactive waste.

Now one of the kids is eyeballing the school, and I know that woman probably doesn't work there anymore, and I acknowledge a lot probably has changed, but, man, it's one of those moments where you remember everything, and it's hard not to hold a grudge.
