So, Sell me on Sanders

Thanks, and I appreciate your candor and information. You obviously dedicated some of your precious time to responding, and I appreciate that!

Some thing we can agree on, somethings we can't. That is the way the the world works.

I have personal experience with the border, living in Texas, and I think that it, dare I say, Trumps all other concerns at this point. I moved here 25 years ago when I was in high school, and Houston is a different city in so many respects. When I moved here it was just like any other city in the US. Now, about 2/3rd of the city doesn't speak English. There are many parts of town that I dare not go in to. I don't go there because I am racist, but because there is a decidedly anti-white/European bend to the attitude in those neighborhoods.

Feel free to say awful things about me, I am a big boy and can take it, but damn, two decades and we have gotten to this point. I, and many of my Hispanic friends here in Texas, would love the wall that Trump promises.

Domestic manufacturing, we agree.

Compatible Cultures.

I think women should be able to drive. I think women should be able to, without community based intimidation, advocate for their own well being. My wife is my partner and best friend. She is able to do things that I could never do. It isn't because she is a woman, it is because she is a smart, capable person. By the way, she is a bigger Trump supporter than I am, and I love her more than anything in the world, save our kids.

No more fruitless foreign wars

A Trump and Bernie coming together, cool.

Hamstringing, etc...

Affirmative action is stupid. We have all been around long enough to know that race and gender don't affect someone's ability to perform the duties required by their job. If I were a minority or a woman I would be offended that some people would think I need a special advantage to get a job.

Women and minorities are no different that anyone else. They can perform their duties, so long as they have the qualifications for the job they are assigned to. It's fucking stupid to think that someone needs a special advantage as a result of their melanin level or lack of testicles.

Come on, does anyone think that way?

Again, thank you for your response, I appreciate it. I hope I'm not banned from this sub because of my response, but I think that there is more common ground between us than you may think.
