Why I sent my Acer Predator X27 back - A loud fan in a monitor for 2.000 dollar?

While I usually agree with the sentiment that ‘gaming’ equipment is gimmicky and a money trap, I don’t know if I’d necessarily agree when it comes to monitors. If you’re talking about a 60hz monitor that you use for light gaming, then sure it may not matter too much if you buy a ‘gaming’ monitor or not. My second monitor is non-gaming 60hz and compared to my 144hz flicker free, low blue light monitor the difference is night and day, not to mention much less eye strain. Not to mention it doesn’t make any noticeable sound. None of these features feel gimmicky to me and are all noticeable upgrades.

I’m sure many cheap gaming monitors have questionable build quality, but from what I can tell, there are many solid mid tier-high tier options for gaming monitors that blow regular monitors out of the water in terms of gaming performance and comfortability.
