[Serious] Campers, backpackers and park rangers of Reddit. What is the weirdest or creepiest thing you have found while in the woods?

Probably a little late for this but my buds and I went to camp up in the Ozarks in NW Arkansas. Anyways we set up camp, built a fire at this point, and we're settling in.

Before we go further, some background info is probably necessary. We were camping about an hour out from a major highway in a very secluded part of NW Arkansas on something like "Riddicks Cemetery Road" and the actual cemetery was about 2 miles down the road from us. So it was kinda cool/sketchy. We were camped in a big open area about 10 ft off the side of the road with clear view of said road.

Anyways, about 10:30 ish my friend and I went out to the road in a more open area to take long exposure shots of the sky, when we hear a car driving towards us. We weren't phased much by it and went back to the camp site. The car got closer and it was an unmarked white van. It slowed down and stopes when it reached the entrance to our camp. We thought that maybe we just took a site that they wanted. But then they peeled out and sped down the road. Didn't see them the rest of the night. We all ended up just passing out after cleaning up our stuff.

Next morning we all woke up and started to pack up. While putting stuff up together, we say footprints all around the campsite. Didn't think much of it because it was probably one of ours, except they were cowboy boots shaped. None of us had boots like that. We were a little sketched out and packed up quick and headed out. Along the way out we see the van we saw last night, parked off the side of the road with a 2 guys in the front and both stare at us as we drive by. They then turn and follow us. We speed up, they speed up. We drive and keep going on this windy road. They're still in up on our tail. We keep accelerating and take a steep corner followed by another. We look back and they weren't there at all. We didn't see them the rest of the drive back to our place.

Rule of thumb: don't camp in rural Arkansas.
