[Serious] Have you ever personally kicked a drug habit without rehab? If so, how did you do it?

Yes. Here's the thing though... If you have no support system like family and/or friends to turn to, I wouldn't recommend it. My family was my rock while I dealt with my addiction.

If you decide to go without rehab, I think the most important thing is a strong will to quit. If you only "kind of" want to stop, you're very likely going to slip without someone looking out for you. You have to want to get better.

That being said, what helped me the most was staying busy and avoiding all the things that tempted me to use. This can be tough because one thing rehab does do is seperate you from your normal habits. Without rehab, it's up to you to decide what you can and can't do. Sometimes you have to make hard choices, like not hanging out with certain people or avoiding places you used to frequent a lot.

You don't mention anything about how deep into addiction you are, so it's hard to say if going solo is an option, or just plain stupid.

In the end, if you feel out of control, don't let pride or fear of punishment stand in the way of getting help. Addiction is no joke. You could wind up dead without getting proper help. Do whatever it takes. Even if that means sharing your secret or getting in trouble. Better to mend your errors than be a sad memory.
