I imagine paedophilia is more noticeably on a "spectrum" than being gay is. That is to say, some pedophiles likely get at least some level of sexual satisfaction with adults (I suppose it's similar to bisexual people being able to desire sex to some extent with either gender). My point being complete celibacy wouldn't necessarily be needed in all cases, they just need to have sex with consenting adults. Though in the case of someone who literally can't get off during sex if it's not with a kid (not even with a child-like adult), well, it sucks for them, but I think we'd all agree it's necessary that they not have sex if that's the only sex they can have.
An extension of this, and probably a more unpopular opinion I have:
This latter sort of paedophile (or any of them, really) should be encouraged to use stuff like drawn loli material to get off. Why? People with paedophilic urges are going to exist whether we like it or not, and some of you may not see it the same way, but they're still people like you and me who shouldn't be punished or looked down on as long as they aren't hurting anyone. Drawn stuff has no victim, the reason child porn is, and should be banned is it requires the exploitation of children.
To counter the obvious "but it'll encourage them to act out their desires" argument: I doubt it. Right now, society views paedophilia in a terrible light, and any sort of paedophilic action, from loli type stuff to actual child porn is condemned. If a pedophile acknowledges their nature to even the slightest extent, they must accept that society views them as a monster. When you view yourself in this negative light already, its much easily to escalate your actions under the pretense of "well, I guess I'm already a piece of shit, I'll be seen as such even if I go farther so I may as well."
On the other hand, if even a small area is established in the public eye as acceptable, e.g. drawn stuff, which doesn't victimize anyone anyway, then there can be an outlet for paedophiles and a clear separation between those who are viewed as accepted and those who go beyond what is accepted and are still see as terrible people.
Personally, I'm for expanding this "acceptable area" as much as possible. If we can get virtual reality sex games for pedophiles, I'd support their existence. The bigger the acceptable purview of victimless paedophilia gets, the more paedophiles will be willing to stay in this purview, separate themselves from "actually evil" paedophiles, and be happy, productive members of society without hurting anyone. The point is to make things as easy as possible for paedophiles to live in an acceptable way, since as I said before, they're going to exist no matter what, so we should focus integrating them into society as well as reducing victimization by them. There would definitely still be some who don't abide, and who victimize people, and we should still punish them accordingly, but I think if we offer a space for some to distinguish themselves as being "acceptable," they will do so much more than if we condemn them completely for any action and leave them to their own devices as people viewed purely as monsters.
TL;DR: Bring on the V.R. loli sex games, I say.
