[Serious] People age 18-40s, who do not work or go to school, what do you do in your daily life? How do you sustain it?

My bizarre story: Quit my job at the very end of 2014. Had a grueling time getting back into the saddle. Really shitty interviews. Really hard time getting jobs to apply for. Watching my bank account dwindle. Getting bad anxiety about it. Started doing some work for the family business just for something to do (unpaid).
Was dragged along to a reverse raffle (where everybody's name is read, last one in wins) that I didn't want to go to. Ended up being paid 5,600 for my ticket by a guy who just wanted the car and bought the remaining tickets. Paid my outstanding taxes and Visa bill. Donated 200$ to the church that put the raffle on.

Less than 3 weeks later, won 500,000 dollars (tax free) playing the lottery my 2nd time playing a string of numbers I thought up two weeks prior, at 1 AM after tossing and turning and being super anxious about my lack of work prospects.

Spent the summer working for the family biz for little pay, but spending every waking moment reading about investing, dividends, markets, etc. Interviewed three financial advisors. Went with the one I felt the best with, and gave him 200 grand. More money than I would've ever seen at my last job in many, many years. He's buying some high-quality stocks for me, waiting for the right time to buy in. Came at the recommendation of a family friend.

Still working for the family business but not getting paid much. Still working hard to get back working. I think working is good to have a set schedule. Right now I have a very loose schedule because I don't have steady work with the family business so I can waste a day super, super easily.

Moral of the story? Life's extremely bizarre.
