Used to have a private landlord when my mother and I were renting a house. This guy was a little sketchy but for the most part we just ignored it.

Usually when he came to collect his rent, my mum was home and she'd give it to him and he'd be on his way. One time I was home alone and he came by to pick it up. I handed it over and instead of leaving, he basically invited himself to stay and have a coffee. It was drummed into me as a child to be polite, so I obliged and gave him his coffee and we chatted about small things.

At the time I was 18 years old and he was north of 50. He started getting a little too close to me for my liking and told me how "gorgeous" I was. He even touched my chin, like I was some child. At this point alarm bells in my head were blaring and I knew I had to get rid of him somehow. So instead of just bolting out of the house and heading to my cousin's place or my aunt's place which were literally just around the corner, I told him I was heading out soon and needed to take a shower. Stupid decision on my part, but I figured it was more suave than just randomly running out of the house. I was hoping he'd take it as his cue to leave.

So I go upstairs to the bathroom and undress, barricading the door with a laundry basket at the same time. I'm praying that he leaves the premises as I do this, as I've told him goodbye and all that. I want to make this look legit, so I actually take my shower. Suddenly I hear the bathroom door knocking and he's trying to get in. I almost soiled myself and looked around for any possible weapons I could use if he managed to break through.

Luckily my barricade held and he just left. The next day my mum and I moved out. We weren't getting our deposit back, but at that point it didn't matter. We reported the incident to the police, so hopefully they eventually arrested that slimy bastard because I know that it wouldn't have been the first crime he's committed.

Moral of the story: Rent from companies, or at least a same sex landlord, haha. Also if this story sounds familiar, I have posted about it before in the past.
